OUR HISTORY

Tecnifibras, S.A. was founded in 1993 as a polypropylene sacks factory for agricultural and industrial use. Our company specializes in each production phase: Extrusion, weaving, coating, printing, cutting and sewing, which allows us to offer our customers a product made in accordance to their needs.

On March 2004, we began operating the Tecnifibras Paper Division, producing multi-layered paper bags for industries such as: Wheat Flour, Limestone, Seeds, Sesame Seeds, among others.

Within a pleasant and safe work environment, our employees have contributed daily, to maintain the standards of excellence required for an industry like ours. With special emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery, our five million sacks per month production company has been able to cover our customer´s most demanding requests throughout these years.

PRODUCTS

Our products are ecological, resistant and attractive packaging, which adequately protect your product throughout its entire distribution chain. They are consumed in the storage, transportation and commercialization of flour, sugar, grains, seeds, fruits, vegetables, food, animal feed, fertilizers, minerals, chemicals, among others.

SACKS (BAGS)

SEWN WOVEN POLYPROPYLENE SACKS

A polypropylene bag is a resistant industrial, packaging solution that adequately protects its contents throughout its distribution chain.

COATED WOVEN POLYPROPYLENE SACKS

The coated sacks add to the existing versatility and advantages of polypropylene packaging, outstanding print quality and greater protection against changing environmental factors.

FLAT-BOTTOM SACKS

These sacks allow maximizing storage space and transportation, as well as increasing brand´s exposure, given the fact that they can be printed on the bottom and sides. This allows the product´s name to be seen from every angle, even stacked product.

VALVE SACKS

These offer superior performance in all high-speed filling processes, even in fine powders. They help maximize storage space and facilitate transportation, while providing an excellent degree of protection due to its heat-seal. These sacks do not require sewing and can be printed on all four sides, maximizing brand exposure.

PAPER SACKS

MULTI-LAYERED NATURAL KRAFT PAPER BAGS (1, 2, 3 layers)

The paper bag is a reliable, attractive and convenient package, made with high quality materials, suitable for contact with food and with excellent performance in high speed filling lines. We offer options in natural Kraft or white color.

SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

Environment

We care about the environment, and we are aware that we must come together as a society in order to improve Guatemala’s and our Planet´s environmental management. We know that one of the main challenges we face is handling trash, for our water sources are contaminated by a large amount of waste, including plastic materials.

In Guatemala, the Plastic Sector generates more than 25 thousand direct jobs and almost 100 thousand indirect jobs, contributing to the development of our country. However, we are aware that many times, after the product´s lifespan is over, the handling of its plastics packaging is not optimal, even though it is 100% reusable and recyclable. Through proper waste management, it generates economic value and leads to the creation of new employment sources for vulnerable segments of our society.

We continuously encourage our collaborators, friends and all Guatemalan residents to commit into generating less waste and to optimize its value by recycling and reusing!

As part of our environmental responsibility projects, we dedicated land to reforestation and we are working towards a Carbon Neutral Certification. Additionally, in 2018, we launched our program “Recuperemos la eterna primavera” (Let’s recover our everlasting spring). Its first project was “Recovering the Aceituno River” activity. Aceituno is a river located less than a mile away from our plant and it is seriously contaminated by plastics, construction debris, and other types of garbage. This initiative was completed on Earth day and involved different sectors of society.

Developing Our Academic Talent

By means of a strategic alliance with the local school, Tecnifibras offers its employees the opportunity to obtain their High School degree. By 2017, our 3rd class had graduated from this program.
